Samui X-Treme runs quad tours from its base camp in Maret, a few minutes inland from Lamai Beach. It is the only ATV park on this side of the island, so if you stay in or around Lamai you spend your morning on the trails instead of in a minivan. Every trip starts the same way: fit your helmet, follow the safety briefing and do a short test ride at the camp. You can pick an automatic or a manual 250cc quad. No driving licence is needed.
Hotel or villa pickup
Our driver collects you from your hotel or villa and brings you to the Samui X-Treme base camp in Maret, just inland from Lamai Beach. Morning trips start around 10:00 and afternoon trips around 14:00.
Pick an automatic or manual 250cc quad, fit your helmet and follow the safety briefing. Everyone gets a short practice ride at the camp, and young drivers take a quick ability check before we head out.
We leave the camp and climb into the coconut groves and jungle tracks above Lamai. The trails are sandy and playful rather than scary, and the guides ride along to help wherever needed.
The 1 hour trip turns here and rolls back down to the camp. It is the right pick for first timers and anyone on a tight schedule. Your driver then takes you back to your hotel.
Prefer to make your own way there? You can skip the pickup and meet us directly at the start point.

Lamai
Please self-arrive 15 minutes before the starting time.
A guided ride on automatic quad bikes through the hills and back tracks above Lamai on the east side of Koh Samui. The quads are automatic with no gears and no licence is needed, and you get a safety briefing and practice time before you set off. Choose a 1 or 2 hour ride. Expect dust in the dry season and mud after rain, with viewpoints over the coast along the way.
The 1 hour trip is an easy taster on gentle tracks, ideal for beginners and families. The 2 hour trip is the most booked one and adds the Khun Sri waterfall, a hilltop viewpoint and the golden Buddha photo stop.
No licence is needed for the quads. Drivers must be at least 12 years old and pass a short ability check at the base camp before the tour heads out.
A passenger seat costs 1,000 baht on the 1 hour trip and 2,000 baht on the 2 hour trip. Passengers join from 4 years old. Children under 12 ride as passengers for free; from 12 years the normal passenger rate applies.
Yes. On the 2 hour trip there is time for a dip at the Khun Sri waterfall. The flow depends on the season, so bring swimwear and a towel just in case.
The tours run rain or shine, and plenty of riders say the muddy months are the most fun. If a heavy downpour makes the trails unsafe, Samui X-Treme moves your booking to another day or refunds you.
Yes. Every booking comes with free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour starts. If you would rather switch to another date, message us and we move it, subject to availability.
For safety, this tour is not suitable for pregnant women, anyone with a serious back, neck or heart condition, or anyone who has been drinking alcohol. Drivers need to be at least 12, and children from 4 can come along as passengers. Weight limits apply per quad. If any of this could affect someone in your group, message us before you book and we will help.
Yes. Each ATV has a combined weight limit of 140 kg and carries a maximum of two people, so the driver and passenger together should weigh no more than 140 kg. If your pair is close to that limit it is better to take a quad each. If you are not sure, message us before you book and we will help.
To keep the ride safe, this tour is not suitable for back problems, heart conditions or pregnant women. If that could apply to anyone in your group, contact us before booking and we will help you find a better fit.
Our experience was fantastic! We chose the 2-hour ride, and it exceeded our expectations. The adventure took us deep into the jungle, winding up through to the mountain top. The route was exciting, with plenty of off-road trails and even some water crossings, which added to the fun. The scenery was stunning throughout, and we stopped at a beautiful waterfall and a scenic viewpoint perfect for photos. The guides were excellent — always nearby to offer guidance and capture memorable moments with photos and videos. The owner even played a few rounds of pool with us at the end. This was easily one of our favourite experiences on Samui. Thank you for an unforgettable tour!
Had a great morning 2 hour ATV jungle tour today for my birthday with my partner (whom had limited ATV experience). Both young guides were excellent and we had a great time riding the quad bikes and seeing the sights and beautiful scenery. They helped with taking photos and videos and were lots of fun!!!
Good fun! I turned up there randomly and joined in on a two hour tour. We saw a waterfall and then the temple on top of a mountain. 90 % proper dirt roads to test your skills. Staff were nice and were attentive to the needs of anyone that had issues. I enjoyed it! The time did go over by like 40 mins so keep that in mind if you have plans afterwords.
From pick up to drop off the staff and service was very good. They were all very safety conscious and always looking out for everyone plus also made sure noone was struggling behind. At one stage I slipped on some gravel after the walk to the waterfall and all the staff come to my aid-i was fine and no big deal. The 4 of us had a great time on the quad bikes for 1 hour and next time will choose 2 hours. Well done X-treme crew👍👍
