Koh Samui has eight real ATV and quad bike operators, and this page compares all of them side by side. Solo rider prices run from ฿1,500 for a 1 hour ride to ฿4,500 for the big 4 hour tours with lunch. Every operator includes hotel pickup, a helmet, a guide and basic accident insurance, so the real differences are the trails, the machines, the reviews and what you get for your money. One operator, Wild Action, is temporarily closed for maintenance until August 2026 and is listed here for reference. Prices and ratings on this page were checked in July 2026.

What that table says in one line: several operators start at ฿1,500 for a 1 hour ride, Orange Wave stays the value pick as the tours get longer, and the ฿4,500 price for a 4 hour tour is identical at Green Mountain, Jungle Quad and X-Quad, so at the top end you choose on route and reviews rather than price. The operators sell passengers in two different ways, and it changes the maths for couples and families:

• Cheap passenger seat: Green Mountain, Samui Quad Motor and Samui X-Treme charge full price for the driver and a much smaller amount for the passenger. Best value for a parent riding with a child.
• Two-seat ATV price: Jungle Quad, X-Quad, Trail Blazers and Orange Wave price the machine, so driver plus passenger books as one two-seat ATV at a higher rate.
• Solo only: Wild Action runs single-rider quads only, so everyone drives their own machine. Wild Action is temporarily closed until August 2026.

Google is the only review platform that covers all eight operators, so that is what we compare. Volume matters as much as the score: a 5.0 from over a thousand reviews is a stronger signal than a 5.0 from a few dozen.

Jungle Quad is the review heavyweight, holding a perfect 5.0 across more than 1,200 reviews. Green Mountain matches the 5.0 with over 570, and Trail Blazers with 250. X-Quad sits at 4.9 from nearly 500. At the other end, Samui X-Treme's 4.1 is the lowest score here, though it remains the only choice if you want to ride from the Lamai side without a transfer across the island.

All the tracks climb into the jungle interior, but they start from three different sides of the island, and the sights differ:

• Jungle Quad (Nathon): Jungle trails above Nathon, secret waterfall swim (3 and 4 hours), Teepangkorn Temple and the Magic Buddha Garden (4 hours).
• Green Mountain (Ang Thong / Nathon): Small-group rides on the green Ang Thong side: mountain viewpoints over the west coast, jungle single track and a waterfall on the longer options.
• X-Quad Samui (Maenam): Mountain route from Maenam to the Standing Buddha viewpoint, hidden waterfall swim and the 360 degree jungle restaurant (4 hours).
• Trail Blazers (Maenam): Jungle viewpoint on every tour, waterfall stop on the 2 and 3 hour rides, mountain temple on the 3 hour.
• Wild Action (temporarily closed) (Maenam): 360 degree viewpoints on every ride, secret waterfall from 2 hours up, mountain temple on the 3 and 4 hour tours.
• Samui Quad Motor (Maenam): The oldest track on the island (since 2002): jungle and mountain trails behind Maenam with a break at the zipline bridge jungle bar.
• Orange Wave (Maenam): Rides to the highest point of Samui, the big Buddha over Lamai Bay at Wat Teepangkorn, and the Tree Bridge coffee and waterfall stop.
• Samui X-Treme (Lamai): The only camp on the Lamai side: hill trails and viewpoints above Lamai Beach, with a test ride at the base before the trail.

Rule of thumb: staying in Maenam or Bophut, everything is close. Staying near Nathon, Jungle Quad and Green Mountain are on your doorstep. Staying in Lamai and want a short transfer, Samui X-Treme is the only local camp, though every operator on this page will pick you up anywhere on the island for free.

Every operator runs fully automatic ATVs, so no gears and no motorbike experience are needed. The main machine difference is engine size. X-Quad runs powerful 450cc and 520cc twin-seat ATVs, and Orange Wave has the widest ATV engine range at 125cc to 800cc. The other operators mainly run standard automatic quads around 200cc to 450cc.

Orange Wave is the strict one on age: drivers must be 18. Everywhere else, confident 11 or 12 year olds can drive their own ATV and younger kids ride as passengers. No driving licence is needed at any operator because the trails are private; see our licence guide and age limits guide.

Food is where the long tours earn their price. The pattern across the island: water or a soft drink on every tour, and a proper Thai lunch only on the longest option, usually at a jungle restaurant with a view. If lunch matters to you, book a 3 or 4 hour tour at Jungle Quad, Green Mountain, X-Quad or Orange Wave. Trail Blazers and Wild Action do not serve a meal on any tour.

All eight operators include free hotel pickup and drop-off anywhere on Koh Samui, and all of them also let you arrive at the base yourself if you have your own wheels. Tours run every day, typically with morning and early afternoon departures, and morning slots are the ones that sell out first in high season.
